  Two Independent 8A Regulator Systems
  in a Single Package
  The LTM В®4616 is a dual input, dual output DC/DC
  ОјModuleTM regulator in a 15mm Г— 15mm Г— 2.8mm LGA
  surface mount package. Only a few external components
  are needed since the switching controller, MOSFETs,
  inductor and other support components are integrated
  within the tiny package.
  Both regulators feature an input supply voltage range of
  2.375V to 5.5V and an adjustable output voltage range of
  0.6V to 5V with up to 8A of continuous output current (10A
  peak). For higher output current designs, the LTM4616 can
  operate in a 2-phase parallel mode allowing the part to
  deliver a total output current of 16A. The default switching
  frequency is set to 1.5MHz, but can be adjusted to either
  1MHz or 2MHz via the PLLLPF pins. Moreover, CLKIN can
  be externally synchronized from 750kHz to 2.25MHz. The
  device supports output voltage tracking for supply rail VIN

  Introduction
  Supercapacitors (or ultracapacitors) are п¬Ѓnding their way
  into an increasing number of applications for short-term
  energy storage and applications that require intermittent
  high energy pulses. One such application is a power ridethrough circuit, in which a backup energy source cuts
  in and powers the load if the main power supply fails
  for a short time. This type of application has typically
  been dominated by batteries, but electric double layer
  capacitors (EDLCs) are fast making inroads as their
  price-per-farad, size and effective series resistance per
  capacitance (ESR/C) continue to decrease.
  Figure 1 shows a 5V power ride-through application
  where two series-connected 10F, 2.7V supercapacitors
  charged to 4.8V can support 20W for over a second. The
  LTC3225, a new charge-pump-based supercapacitor
  charger, is used to charge the supercapacitors at 150mA
  and maintain cell balancing while the LTC4412 provides
  automatic switchover between the supercapacitor and
  the main supply. The LTM4616 dual output DC/DC
  ОјModuleTM regulator creates the 1.8V and 1.2V outputs. …
