The circuit board used in the final application Item Description should use RF circuit design techniques. Signal J1, J2 SMA-SRI-NS lines should have 50 Ohm impedance while the J3, J4 2 mm Molex Header package ground leads and package bottom should C1, C2 4.7 µF Capacitor be connected directly to the ground plane similar to C3 0.1 µF Capacitor, 0603 Pkg. that shown. A sufficient number of via holes should C4, C5 100 pF Capacitor, 0402 Pkg. be used to connect the top and bottom ground C6, C7 10k pF Capacitor, 0402 Pkg. planes. The evaluation board should be mounted C8, C9 0.47 µF Capacitor, 0402 Pkg to an appropriate heat sink. The evaluation circuit U1 HMC659LC5 board shown is available from Hittite upon request.
